Favorite things Friday. Is that a thing? No? Okay well it is now.
As a mom of two boys, a 152 pound bull mastiff, and a wife it is necessary for me to clean CONSTANTLY. Now does this mean I actually do it constantly? Absolutely not. In fact, I rarely clean as much as I should in the first place.
Anyway, now that we’ve established the fact that my house is a disaster I’m going to list some of my favorite things to help clean my home! These things are specifically great now that the weather is changing and our skin/bodies are adjusting to weather changes too. These are helpful in your home and can help keep things clean, safe, and organized in any weather change.
Side note: Marek has asthma and we aren’t completely sure what even triggers it. Most of the time it seems to be weather, exercise, or sickness related, but I also read a few articles about common household cleaners (I mean chemicals) that can trigger things such as asthma attacks in your asthmatic child. I will also say that since switching some of these basic chemical products out with some of the things I’m about to share with you, his asthma has been MUCH better.
Let’s start with some of my favorite Norwex products. Guys- I promise I’m not one of those moms who “drinks the water” when it comes to buying into all of these at home sales marketing things… However, I did try Norwex and I will admit that I absolutely love it. *I am in no way affiliated with Norwex, nor am I an independent Norwex distributor* this is all simply my personal opinion. Jayce used to have these little red bumps that looked like baby acne on his back and arms, and of course Marek would break into rashes depending on the season. After reading about all of the chemicals that are in your laundry detergent and in your dryer sheets (seriously guys, look into these things. It’s gross) I decided I wanted to find different options with much less chemicals. *Introduce Norwex*
Whether you prefer the liquid laundry detergent or the powdered kind- it’s amazing. No phosphates, sulfates, chlorine, bleach, fillers, animal testing, dyes or fragrances. Cleans your clothes and doesn’t leave behind harmful chemicals for your skin. I LOVE IT.
I also replaced those nasty dryer sheets with the fluff and tumble dryer balls. I love that these have no chemicals, but I wills say I miss the smell of the dryer sheets. I also will admit that while using these there are more static in our clothes. However, to reduce the chances of asthma attacks and to get rid of the rashes, it’s definitely worth having our home be “a safe haven” as Norwex likes to call it.
Now on a non-Norwex related topic:
This is Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day. These are AMAZING. They smell so good, and I’m so sad that the mum scent is not in season anymore because it is my all time favorite. This is another cleaner that is safer for your house, family, and pets. This multi-surface cleaner is used in my bathrooms and in my kitchen for counter spaces, etc. It leaves the house literally smelling like a garden. Love love love it.
So there we have it, just a few of my favorite cleaning and household items this time of year. Not that anyone really cares, but hey, it might be helpful sometime.
Until next time,
//
Emma
